The Beginner's course

7:00 - 8:00 -Sign in, coffee, doughnuts, and vender visits. 

8:00 - 8:15 - Opening/Welcoming ceremonies - Auditorium. 

8:30 - 9:30 - Basic Honey Bee Biology - Cafeteria. - Tom Mehan Sr.  

9:40 -  10:40 - Getting Started -Equipment, tools and other gear.  Apiary placement. - Cafeteria -  Greg Strickland and Tom Mehan Sr.  

10:50 - 11:50 - Installing a nucleus (nuc) with live bees. - Bill Blankenship - Outdoor classroom.

12:00 -1:00 - Smoker lighting and open hive demonstrations - Multiple instructors - Outdoor classroom.  

1:00 - 2:00 - Lunch will be provided in the Cafeteria.  

2:00 - 2:30 - Door prizes and Raffle. - Auditorium

2:45 - 3:45 - Pest management. - Dan Killingsworth - Cafeteria

4:00 - 5:00- Best Practices. - State Bee Inspector, Jimmy Davis - Cafeteria
